History of Childhood and Education was the course I was most looking forward to this semester. I have always loved children, and I have been constantly exposed to the education system as my mom is a teacher and I also want to teach. I hold education at a high value, and am also very passionate about the what goes on in classrooms in relevance to the teachers union. In my university career I had never taken a course so specific to two of the biggest passions in my life, and for that reason alone is why I enrolled in this course. I wanted more knowledge that I could use in my future career, and I was also looking for some reassurance that teaching was one of my passions. In high school I took programs and camps that solidified that the RCMP was made for me, but I had not had a similar experience with my goal to teach. I volunteered in classrooms in high schools and coached sport teams, but I was young then and I am a completely different person now.
