The two separate articles analyzed in this weeks reading log clearly demonstrates how looking at one sole document or a small variety of historical documents could lead you to have a certain opinion on a particular event that could perhaps be subjective to that document whereas other perspective to that event may be present if researched properly. The article by Allan Geer almost validates the act of violence during charivaris by articulating how they had a political goal in mind. Whereas the book by Susanna Moodie emphasizes the unfair and incredibly violence that took place during these forms of protest. If you were just to read one of the articles you would most likely have to separate opinions on the act of the charivari.
